"My Land is Not Thine, Either by Right or by Conquest" The Royal Gazette, January 6, 1830 Excerpt from the newspaper account of Maliseets at Government House in Fredericton on New Years Day, 1830: "In a brief reply through the medium of the Interpreter the Sergum signified his satisfaction with all that had been said, but embraced the opportunity of enquiring 'whether it was true as some persons had told the Indians that their lands were about to be taken from them?' They were assured that the report was idle and [unl]founded; entreated them not to listen to the [falsehoods] of mischievous people who only wished to make them unhappy, but if at any time they wanted information to seek it from the proper authorities; and advised to lose no time in bringing all their lands into cultivation as the surest method of securing them for their own possessions forever. The President proceeded to shake hands with all his friends; and after they had favored the company with two or three dances, the one a rude relict of their warlike days (now almost forgotten)... these innocent and affectionate children of nature departed to their homes in the Indian Village their eyes glistening with pleasure at the interest with which they were manifestly regarded by their White Brothers and Sisters of the human family, and at the kindness and hospitality of their Great Uncle-the President of New Brunswick."

They are offering us money that was made from the lands they stole from us. In all reality it’s like someone stealing a car, renting it out and then offering the true owner of the car the money they made by renting it. It’s like claiming the car is now the legal property of the thief. Is that a legal process? Is that justice for the victim of the theft? No, but when it comes to our stolen lands CANADA claims it is. We all know under no law is theft legal. HERE!

WHEREAS Canada has ascribed to the internationally recognized standards for respecting political rights of the People as set out in the international Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Prevention of Genocide, United Nations Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and other international legal instruments; WHEREAS General Assembly Resolution 1541 (XV) requires the informed consent of the people before they are included in another state; and the international Court of Justice affirmed this Resolution in the Western Sahara case; and the Indigenous people never consented to be part of Canada; International law has determined that no people can be absorbed into a foreign state unless the majority give their informed consent through a free and fair vote. We never voted to become part of Canada or the British Empire . We were never conquered. We never gave up gave our sovereignty or jurisdiction. It’s still here and it’s still the law. We took no part in that BNA Act 1867 that was passed by Britain ’s Parliament to set up the Dominion of Canada . That’s a law for Canadians, not for us. Section 91(24) gives Canada the right only to negotiate WITH us on behalf of the British Empire. That’s all! Canada has no right to make laws for us. It doesn’t now and it never has. [Check archives]. Canadian citizen Phil Fontaine and Atlantic Policy Congress, NBAPC, Aboriginal Sec't, MAWIW, UNBI, INAC & its C&C pretend to speak for us. They have been placed in this position by their bosses, the Canadian government under imposed Canadian laws. They are paid by Canada . They report to Canada . They do not report to us or represent us in any sense of the word. |
At Windsor Castle on September 10, 1621 King James signed a grant in favour of Sir William Alexander covering all of the lands "between our Colonies of New England and Newfoundland, to be known as New Scotland " (Nova Scotia in Latin), an area larger than Great Britain and France combined. On October 18, 1624 the King announced his intention of creating a new order of baronets to Scottish "knichts and gentlemen of cheife respect for ther birth, place, or fortounes ". James I died on March 27, 1625 but his heir, Charles I, lost no time in implementing his father’s plan. By the end of 1625, the first 22 Baronets of Nova Scotia were created and, as inducements to settlement of his new colony of Nova Scotia, Sir William offered tracts of land totalling 11,520 acres.
Survival's director Stephen Corry said today: 'Indigenous peoples' ill health is the legacy of centuries of colonization, discrimination, poverty and loss of control over their lands and resources. It is one of the most urgent humanitarian issues of the 21st century.'

Here is an example, get a few Native people to build a small shack next to the Parliamant Buildings and see what happens to you. They will rip down your shack and throw the Natives in jail because they will state "it's Government property and you can't squat here, you're trespassing!". What makes Natives any different as legal land owners. Right now you have many squatters on your lands and you are saying, oh, ok, pay us for it. Do you think that the government would let you pay a few bucks to keep your shack next to their Parliament Building? Wake up and see that you are getting someplace and the corruptions are being exposed from past deeds and start fighting for your rights. There is nothing wrong for Native People to take back what is legally theirs, even if it has to be taken back in small sections. Set your price for the back rents or taxes, whatever and if they don't like it then start setting up camp in the village and see what happens. Let's see what they do about it. ANON
